Revolving center
Aims TO FILL A GAP IN THE TYPE OF SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO LOW INCOME PEOPLE,
TO BE PART OF A WEB OF HEALERS, AND TO MAKE AN OFFERING TO THE POWERS
OF COLLABORATION, RESOURCE SHARING, AND COMMUNITY.
Shawn kelley,
LEAD FACILITATOR, YOGA TEACHER
I'm Shawn.
In 2013 I started a Wellness Development and Integration Program via The Flashbulb Institute, offering support and facilitation to workers and underemployed people in pursuit of wellbeing and less harmful employment.
I completed my 200 hour YTT at Laughing River Yoga in Spring of 2017 and have been teaching queer forward, body positive, healing centered, group classes and one on one sessions several times a week since then.
I started Revolving Center as a way to connect all of the types of support I offer.
Through Revolving Center I am able to offer personalized combinations of support services, generate financial resources to reinvest in the community, and provide a platform for people to connect with and support each other in resisting the impacts of oppressive culture on our bodies, relationships, and communities.
My formative experiences of poverty, trauma, cults, punk, houselessness, sailing, adventures, queerness, art, and organizing, gave me language to name the horror I felt and saw all around me, glimpses of freedom, and prepared me to understand how all systems of oppression and disconnection must be addressed in the pursuit of personal healing.
I dream of a future (and always of a past cut off by colonization) where integrated teams of physical, mental, emotional, political, cultural, environmental, and generational healers work closely together in service to our communities.
